A volunteer medical team of Fuzhou Municipal CC&TSPM in Fujian Province celebrated its 45th anniversary.
On March 2, members of the free clinic group gathered to commemorate the event, reminiscing about the good old days.
In 1979, believers of the Fuzhou Flower Lane Church established the Flower Lane Church’s Medical Clinic, whose staff were from the internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, traditional Chinese medicine, pediatrics, oncology, stomatology, ENT, acupuncture, as well as massage departments of hospitals in the city.
Since then, in addition to providing disease prevention and health care for church congregations, the clinic has grown and formed the "Fuzhou Christian Free Clinic Team." For over 20 years, the team has conducted free clinics for poverty alleviation, disaster relief, and medical diagnosis as well as consultation in various regions, including mountainous areas, old revolutionary base areas, areas inhabited by minority nationalities, and remote and border areas in Fuzhou, Zhangzhou, Sanming, and Ningde cities. Fuzhou Municipal CC&TSPM supports funds for free clinic medicines.
The team currently consists of nearly 40 people, with an average age of around 65, including more than 10 chief physicians, associate chief physicians, and attending physicians.
