During the National Day holiday, a themed retreat titled "Rise Up, O Church!" was conducted in a church located in Guangdong Province, Southeast China.
According to Huizhou Municipal TSPM, nearly 70 believers attended a retreat that Xiaojinkou Church in Huicheng District, Huizhou City, organized from October 2 to 3.
At the meeting, Rev. Joseph Han, president of Huicheng District Christian Council, preached a sermon, “Church on the Rock," addressing the importance of cultivating a Bible-based and correct ecclesiology among the attending believers. To build a healthy church, it was necessary to have a proper understanding and earnest learning regarding Sunday worship, fellowship among believers, the teaching of truth, disciple training, and evangelism.
Pastor Run Dongdong delivered a sermon with the title “Make Them One,” which raised the believers’ awareness of the significance of unity as prayed for by Jesus in John 17, urging them to build a united church in Christ.
During a sermon titled “Service That Pleases God," Rev. Chen Yanqun, chairman of Huicheng District TSPM, exhorted the attendees to serve God with the right attitude, a righteous life, and the correct direction to establish a church that pleases Him.
