A delegation from the Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) recently visited CCC&TSPM, located in Shanghai, to discuss topics related to Bible study and volunteer training.
During the visit, Rev. Shen Xuebin, vice president of the China Christian Council (CCC), held discussions on June 6 with John Chen, a consultant to the board of directors of the Bible Study Fellowship, according to CCC&TSPM.
Rev. Shen pointed out that studying the Bible, which is rich in content, was essential for Christians. Furthermore, he emphasized that understanding how to interpret the Bible according to the needs of the Chinese church was an ongoing challenge. China's rapid economic and social growth had also brought about the diversification of believers' needs and views, making it necessary for pastors to grasp the principles of scripture exegesis to better guide their congregants towards being faithful and righteous, he continued. Shen acknowledged that the BSF's experience in volunteer training was worth learning from.
The visiting group from the BSF showcased their experience in volunteer training and church guidance related to Bible study and interpretation, expressing their willingness to cooperate further on Bible study and other aspects to benefit more believers.
The BSF, a Bible study organization based in San Antonio, Texas, USA, initiated by lay believers, has offered nearly 1,400 courses in over 154 countries to date.
