A training course for young and middle-aged foreign affairs staff of the registered church and the annual working conference of the Overseas Relationship Department of the CCC was convened in Guangdong.
At the meeting held on April 27, United Front Work Department officials spoke highly of achievements made by the Chinese Christian delegation during their participation in the WCC meeting conducted in Germany last year and provided an overview of the discipline and procedures related to religious foreign affairs work in the future, according to CCC&TSPM. Chinese TSPM churches were encouraged to communicate with foreign countries with a sense of mission, crisis, and responsibility and to export Chinese culture.
CCC&TSPM members and responsible staff shared that during the epidemic, Chinese churches kept in touch with overseas churches and organizations through emails, letters, and online meetings and continued to cooperate in Bible publishing and social services with foreign organizations. Leaders emphasized the need for local churches to train foreign affairs talents and study religious policies in order to ensure that foreign affairs work abides by national policies and laws.
Rev. Shen Xuebin, vice president of the China Christian Council (CCC), concluded that to win over overseas church friends’ understanding and support, Chinese churches should continue to do a good job in foreign exchanges, including publicizing the policy of freedom of religious belief in China, the construction of Chinese church theology, and the sinicization of Christianity.
