Shanghai Community Church issued a notice to remind its congregation to resist the recent rampant Shincheonji cult.

On April 7, the megachurch said, "Recently, some co-workers and believers reported that they received a live advertisement of the online lecture 'Victory and Peace in the Last Days' held by the cult Shincheonji or New Heaven and New Earth. In order to protect believers and the church, the church calls on believers to resolutely resist heresies and cults."

Released on its public WeChat account entitled "Understanding the Truth of the Bible and Resisting Heresies and Cults," the notice proposes that believers be encouraged to study the truth of the Bible at all times, strengthen spiritual practice, and promptly drive out "thieves" who "steal" and "destroy" among the flocks.

It also reminds believers to listen to and watch their own church sermons and not join unfamiliar WeChat groups at will. The congregation is suggested to boycott illegal religious activities and fellowship activities.
