Guangdong Christians Vow to Repent, Fast During Lent

广东一教堂举行预苦期“克苦月”（四旬期）立约仪式，倡导牧者和信徒禁食参与主的苦难。

在牧者的带领和鼓励下，由牧者同工首先立约，信徒加入立约队列，一起在主前立下心志：谦卑地悔改所思所行，与祂联合同受苦，同行四十天的苦路。并且祷告交托，仰望恩主带领赐福

预苦期间，参与禁食斋戒，比如日常生活中每天少喝一杯奶茶/咖啡，少吃一份茶点，减少娱乐、享受，将省下的开支奉献给上主的殿，和参与社会慈善关怀等。
“克苦月”期间，光孝堂将积极开展一系列社会慈善关怀事工。

A Guangdong church organized its members to repent, fast, and contribute by joining in Jesus’ sufferings during the Lent period.

Guangxiao Church in Guangzhou hosted two covenant ceremonies after two Sunday services on March 6 to observe Lent, also known as the Pre-Suffering Period, according to the official WeChat account of the church.

Pastors and church staff first made the covenant, followed by believers. They decided to humbly repent of what they think or do and suffer with Jesus in the Lent season. Later, they prayed for the Lord’s leading and blessings.

During these forty days, they participate in fasting, drinking less milk tea or coffee and eating less refreshment in their daily lives. They will dedicate the saved money to the church and charity ministry which the church plans to carry out during the special period.
