Staff workers of a Jilin church showed sympathy to a local nursing home, providing daily necessities and services to the elderly, as the unusually hot weather and the pandemic rebound made it inconvenient for them to go out.
Under the leadership of Elder Sun Li, who learned about the situation of the home, more than 20 deacons and staff workers from Ruiguang North Church in Taobei District, Baicheng City, presented bed sheets and fruits on July 31 to the Sunshine Nursing Home.
Bringing their own tools, the church staff provided various services, including haircuts, massages, pedicures, and cleaning. An old man with a haircut smiled happily in the mirror, praising their good skills.
Another elderly person with limited mobility expressed gratitude after receiving a massage which relieved his muscle stiffness caused by lack of exercise.
The fellow workers also performed theatrical programs to enrich the lives of the elderly amid COVID-19.
Committed to public welfare and charity ministry, the church has built a professional service team, including barbers, masseurs, pedicurists, and housekeeping workers.
