In the 18th Qilu theological forum held by the Shandong CC&TSPM held on June 21, Gu gave a systematic introduction to the current situation of religion from the perspective of globalization with the title "Development Trends of the Universal Church and Reflections on the Sinicization of Christianity in China".
More than 300 members of the Shandong CC&TSPM, faculty, and all the teachers and students from various seminaries attended the forum, whose purpose was to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the Sinicization of Christianity among them and to further improve the construction of the Qilu theological system.
The speaker analyzed the evolution and distribution of Christianity from the perspective of history and the current situation.
As the integration of the gospel into the local culture was the basis for the healthy development of Christianity, it was necessary to adhere to the direction of the Sinicization of Christianity and build churches with Chinese characteristics, for it was related to whether it could occupy a place in the transformation of the universal church, Gu pointed out.
He suggested attendees hold high the banner of patriotism and love of Christianity and adhere to the principle of independent and self-run churches, in order to improve the overall quality of believers and resist the infiltration of heresies.
Chinese cultural elements should be integrated into the manifestations of beliefs to reflect national characteristics, as well as to contribute to the indigenization of the theology of the universal church.
He urged the participants to be the witness of Christ’s love by maintaining and enhancing unity, so as to adapt to the socialist society.

为提升全体教职员工和神学院师生对基督教中国化的认知和理解，进一步完善齐鲁神学体系建设，2021年6月21日，山东省基督教两会举办第十八期齐鲁神学讲坛，山东省基督教两会班子成员、教职员工及神学院全体师生共300余人参加。
中国基督教三自爱国运动委员会秘书长顾梦飞同工在分享中以“普世教会发展趋势及我国基督教中国化思考”为题，以全球化的视角就当前宗教概况作了系统介绍，并着重从历史和现状层面分析了基督教的发展演变和具体分布。
顾梦飞同工指出，福音对文化的适应是基督教健康发展的基础，坚持基督教中国化方向，建立体现中国特色的基督教非常必要，关系到在普世教会转型中能否占有一席之地。他建议在推进基督教中国化的工作中，要始终高举爱国爱教旗帜，坚持独立自主自办教会原则，不断提升信徒综合素质，抵制异端邪教渗透；在信仰表现形式中融入中国文化元素，体现民族特色，为普世教会本色化神学贡献力量；维护合一、增进团结，彰显基督爱的见证，不断与社会主义社会相适应。
