Still in lockdown, a church in China’s northern Shanxi Province held a worship and praise meeting for its full-time staff on September 2.
The theme was “Wait during the Pandemic, Pray to God and Praise Him,” according to the church.
Presided over by a pastor, the meeting was opened in a prayer by Elder Yang Guohua in a church Yaodu District, Linfen.
Citing Psalm 146, Pastor Guo Quanling preached a sermon entitled, “We Praise the Lord”. He encouraged the participants, as God’s children, to give thanks to and praise God in any circumstance. We should keep the faith and look upon him, particularly when COVID is spreading around the world and many public gatherings are suspended. As shepherds, we need to watch over ourselves and the flock.
Then all the full-time co-workers sang the Chinese hymn “One Day” in four parts with praise and gratitude to God.
As the church develops its program of sacred music, music professors from the seminary conducted training programs in the past years.
During their time of singing, each member sang expressed their praise to God with through their different styles and voices.
The activity ended with a benediction given by Rev. Yang Senlin. They also enjoyed a meal together.
山西省临汾市基督教会举办全职同工“在疫情中守候，向神祈祷赞美”赞美感恩会 9月2日上午，装饰一新的山西省临汾市尧都区城区教堂尚未恢复礼拜，一曲曲嘹亮的赞美歌声直上云霄。 一场别开生面的“在疫情中守候，向神祈祷赞美”专题感恩赞美会在这里隆重举行。 全体专职同工精神饱满，引吭高歌，抒发对上帝保守的感恩之情，同心祈祷祝福世界和平和谐、祖国繁荣富强、人民幸福安康、教会不断复兴。 赞美会由张利利传道主持，在杨国华长老的感恩祈祷中拉开帷幕，王帅传道读经。 郭泉灵传道以《我们要赞美耶和华》为题，分享了诗篇146篇的主题经文。 他劝勉大家，作为神的儿女，无论遇到何种境况都应向神感恩赞美。 特别是今年疫情在全世界蔓延，聚集性活动暂停，我们更应当保持信心专心盼望，相信上帝的安排；藉此也提醒我们谨慎警醒，为自己和全群守望，看守好主的羊群。 分享结束，全体专职同工共同登上圣台献唱了四声部合唱《每一天》，大家以昂扬饱满的激情演唱，发自内心感恩的上帝每一天的看顾与保守，洋溢着对上帝的赞美和感恩。 随后在个人献唱环节，每一位同工纷纷将自己精心预备的诗歌呈献神人面前，或深情，或悠扬，或高亢，或委婉，声情并茂，眉目传情，表露自己对上帝的无比谢恩和全然赞美。 主持人风趣幽默的串词，使活动不时推向高潮；在欢乐赞美中，每个人脸上都洋溢着神人同在、和睦同居、神喜人悦的美好祝福。 最后杨森林牧师做了祝福祷告。 大家还一起分享了爱筵。 近年来，尧都区基督教会十分注重圣乐服侍，曾专门聘请神学院圣乐专家举办专题培训。 这次感恩赞美会就是对专职同工圣乐学习成果的一次全面检验。 陈丽长老牵头策划，司勤指挥都由刘雅静同工具体负责，经过一段时间的努力排练，取得了圆满成功，荣耀归于至高上帝。 （资料来源：“临汾教牧”公众号）
