On the morning of July 18, 2020, the Truth Church in Yangxin County, Hubei Province held a general election for the church’s management.
The church was established in September 2011 with less than 50 believers. After several years of development, the number of believers increased to more than 300. In order to better shepherd the believers and manage the church, the church adopted new policies and regulations in 2017. According to the regulations, the church formed two groups to take care of church affairs and pastoral work. The deacon board and the co-pastor group were both established at this time.
In the event of major issues in the church, the deacon board and the co-pastor group will meet to resolve the issue. There are 33 co-workers in total. It is also stipulated that the members of the deacon board shall be elected by the church’s co-pastors group. The full-time pastoral staff is employed by the co-pastors group collectively and democratically. The appointment is for three years tentatively.
Through a secret ballot, six deacons were elected to form a deacon’s board with Elder Li Yunxiang as the director. At the same time, the original three full-time co-pastors were confirmed by secret ballot. The co-pastor group with Pastor Zhang Qingqiao as the director was confirmed.
This meeting was also the first in-person meeting during the coronavirus pandemic
