Last week, Guangdong Union Theological Seminary held its admissions exam after two month's delay.
From June 4 to 5, 2020, a total of 75 candidates participated in the exam. The participants applied for one of the following programs: full-time college, full-time undergraduate, or full-time college transfer to a bachelor’s degree program. Some applied to upgrade from a pastoral college program to an undergraduate program.
According to the official website of CCC&TSPM, the pandemic forced the school to postpone the admissions exam from April to June. In order to ensure the health and safety of the candidates, in addition to the school headquarters in Guangzhou, applicants could take the exam at three different places in Guangdong, Jieyang, Meizhou, and Huizhou.
The seminary sent teachers to proctor the exams. This way candidates could take the exam at a nearby location. Each test room followed strict guidelines on distancing and disinfecting. Teachers and candidates were masked and had their temperatures taken upon entering the exam room.
The exam was given to select promising and capable Christians for further study. The seminary has effectively instructed persons on the new rules and the importance of maintaining discipline. During the examination, the seminary ensured tht everyone would abide by the regulations so that the most talented persons could be selected for the Guangdong church.
