On January 6, 2020, a three-person delegation from Gideons International visited Jiangsu Theological Seminary.

According to the seminary, Gideons International has maintained a long-term and legal relationship with the registered church in China.

Rev. Shi Li, vice-chairman and secretary general of Jiangsu Three-Self Patriotic Movement, introduced the seminary's cross exhibition hall which collects various kinds of crosses. A member of Gideons shared his faith testimony with the students.

Jiangsu Theological Seminary was founded in 1998 and has three campuses in Nanjing, Sihong County of Suqian, and Suzhou. According to its official website, the provincial-level seminary has equipped 1,353 graduates, including 198 students with bachelor of theology degrees, Its five-year plan (2018-2022) indicates that the emphasis will be on training staff, enhancing education quality, and improving teaching conditions.
