On February 24, 2016, Rev. Wu Ai'en, the founding pastor of Shenyang Xita Church, passed away at 91. She was one of the first batch of female pastors ordained since Chinese churches reopened in 1978.

Rev. Wu Ai'en is a Korean in China and grew up in a Christian family. She graduated from Beijing Yanjing Theological Seminary in 1957. The same year she became the head of Xita Church that was originally created by missionaries from  Korea.

After 1979, she was once the deputy director and deputy president of Liaoning CCC/TSPM(China Christian Council/Three-Self Patriotic Movement). In 1981, she was ordained as pastor. During her lifetime, she had trained many Korean co-workers.

Shenyang CCC&TSPM commented her life as "the lifetime of loving nation and Christianity, glorifying God and helping others". Her memorial service will be held on February 26.
